Casting for The Hunger Games' sequel, Catching Fire, has officially begun. The big names of Hollywood are now being linked to the big roles of Catching Fire, and fans couldn't be more excited. A couple of days ago, it was announced the Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee was officially offered to character actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The main role fans want filled is Finnick Odair, and yes, there's another rumor about who has filled it. Please find a seat because you may need to sit down when you read on. Several actors have been linked to the coveted role of Finnick, but nothing official has been announced—yet.
An insider came forward to say that while John Carter's Taylor Kitsch hasn't been "100% confirmed" for the role, "the latest word is [he's] going to do the film."
Uh, this rumor is confusing on many fronts because it hints that the role of Finnick has been filled, but higher-ups are keeping mum about it. And, shocker alert: Kitsch is the same actor who dismissed earlier rumors connecting him to Finnick! So which is it?
