Effie Trinket will return to cast of 'Catching Fire'

It seems that everyone’s favorite purple-haired, proper-mannered Effie Trinket will be returning to the big screen for a second round of “The Hunger Games.”
In a recent interview for her upcoming film, “People Like Us,” actress Elizabeth Banks confirmed this week that she will be returning to the movie set as Effie Trinket for Suzanne Collins’ sequel, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” It was wondered if the star would reprise her role after a new director for the second adaptation was chosen, but Banks is simply excited to watch “Catching Fire” through “fresh eyes.”

While she may be a member of the over-the-top, colorfully challenged and downright sadistic city of Panem, “Hunger Games’” supporting character Effie Trinket has always been a bit better than the rest of the bunch (save for perhaps Cinna). She warms up to Katniss Everdeen and Peeta rather quickly, tributes of District 12 though they may be.
